Name: Gwydion
--Origin of name:Meaning "Born of Trees" in an ancient language

Role: Druid

Personality/Background: To celebrate their first Greenskeeper Gathering in their new Clan, Cernunnos’ parents Nomios and Melia decided to lay their very first clutch of eggs. They were anxious but during the festivities, two hatchlings broke the shells of their eggs and drew their first breath. Gwydion has inherited his mother’s strange markings which were the result of an unsuccessful experiment of his ancestors to purge the virus from their blood. Like her and the rest of his cursed bloodline he suffers from a particularly virulent strain of the Nosos Virus which leaves him severely incapacitated. He cannot fight, cannot run, cannot survive on his own in the unforgiving wilderness of the Shrieking Wilds.

But he was blessed with other talents instead. Gwydion has a sharp and keen mind. He is intelligent and a quick learner. What really redeemed him in his family’s eyes though are his magical abilities. Gwydion was born a druid, a rare occurrence amongst descendants from the Reaver’s bloodline. The Gladekeeper only reluctantly bestows such powers on individuals so obviously touched by her sister’s taint. His parents are particularly proud that one of their sons has been blessed by her.

Being a druid did not however protect him from the mockery and bullying of his peers. In a world where strength and health are revered, someone lacking both is bound to have a hard time. His brother Cernunnos tried to protect him as best as he could and Gwydion loves him dearly for it. When he was finally given to the Clan’s druids to be properly educated and trained, he was glad to leave his peers behind.

Symptoms: The Nosos Virus has left Gwydion with several ailments. He suffers from muscle weakness, seizures and a blood disorder. Fatigue is his constant companion. He tires easily, both physically and mentally. In addition, he has inherited his mother’s severe allergies which is a huge problem in the lush forests of the Viridian Labyrinth. Something always blooms.

Remnants of Clan Lazar (“The Knights”)
Family Branch: The Reavers

Once they were a powerful and well-respected Clan. Their territory lay deep in the heart of the Scarred Wasteland. The Clan, proud of their ancestry and pure bloodlines, was struck by a strange and terrible disease that weakened the adults and killed the hatchlings. That disease would later be known as the Nosos Virus, an eventually fatal Virus spreading through the Scarred Wasteland like wildfire. The once proud and powerful Clan was soon known as “Clan Lazar”, a name to mock those that survived the sickness. Left with a frail body and sometimes mind, the neighboring Clans soon banded together to take away the lands and riches of the weakened Clan. What remained of the once powerful Clan was scattered to the winds, settling down all over Sornieth in small family groups.

Those of “Clan Lazar” settling down in the unforgiving Viridian Labyrinth became known as The Reavers. Hoping the unforgiving and ancient woods of the Viridian Labyrinth would purify their blood and purge the Curse of the Plaguebringer they settled down in the depths of the Shrieking Wilds. Once the scouts and scavengers of their Clan, they became excellent hunters and druids. Many blamed them for bringing the Virus into the lair of Clan Lazar as they were always roaming deep into the Wyrmwound. Their bloodline was hit hardest and only few survived. In the harsh environment of the Shrieking Wilds even more dragons perished and what remained of the Reavers fell apart and scattered to the winds. This diaspora almost extinguished their bloodline. But the survivors still believe in their cause, they have lost a battle but not the war.
