Some dragons can only dream of having an Arcane Sprite, but Sprite is actually an Arcane Sprite. Shapeshifted by Amaris through mysterious magical (and likely illegal) means, Sprite now helps the Fae leader out in all aspects of clan life. Most of the time, this merely amounts to organizing his research notes and making sure none of the hatchlings or more… curious members of the clan get to them. Other times, Sprite can be found chasing the newest aspiring "borrower" with a roll of newspaper. Either way, she's never too far from Amaris, and so finding the Fae leader usually starts with spotting the tiny pink blur flitting about. She even sparkles and leaves a trail of glitter for easy tracking!

In fact, Sprite is so close to Amaris, they rarely need to converse on verbal terms. A single frown, or a frill switch, or even just a blink is enough for Sprite to know what her friend wants. It's quite amazing to see them working together, as their ability to communicate silently allows both of them to immediately process what to do next. The two work at such a fast-paced speed onlookers can easily get dizzy just seeing the results churn out. Or, rather, they would, if Amaris would be willing to allow his clanmates see what he's working on. Unfortunately, he keeps all aspects of his research locked up tight in his lab or BonBon's archives. Sprite herself doesn't really understand why her friend wouldn't show his glorious projects to the world. I mean, where's the harm in telling everyone else that he's researching the properties of this part is crossed out with what looks like clawmarks, a project so wonderfully immense and chaotic that it could even the words here have been scorched, making them impossible to read?
But researching all the time isn't good for anyone, Arcane Sprite or not. Thus, Sprite also spends time in the library, where she reads and hangs out with BonBon, who's become one of her closer friends. The librarian understands the inner workings of the clan and different relationships, so she's more than happy to help Sprite adjust to the weird society of dragon relationships. She also keeps trying to convince Sprite to befriend the other dragons in the lair, which Sprite feels uncomfortable with. Sure, she's technically a dragon now, but she really still feels like a Familiar. She gets along better with her friends the other Familiars, and having to confront dragons other than Amaris and BonBon… nope. Not touching that with a ten-meter stick.

Her shyness is quite the obstacle, as Sprite's curiosity does require her to poke around and ask non-BonBon or Amaris dragons questions. She needs to know everything! Yet Amaris is often too busy or tired to help her poke everything, and BonBon's answers are rhetorical at best. Nobody's willing to show her an in-depth video of how Coatls like Katiyana and Rheana hunt, so it's up to Sprite to gather the information herself. But she's still shy, so this results in her cloaking herself with invisibility and fluttering after the two hunters on their trips. It seems to work out so far – neither of the two or their child have noticed her, and she's gotten quite a bit of information on Coatl anatomy. (Katiyana and Rheana totally know she's there, but they're nice enough to not point it out.)

For the most part, becoming a dragon has brought nothing but good for Sprite. She's got greater reservoirs of magic and is finally big enough to get other dragons' attention without having to smack them over the head with a six-thousand-page book. She's even big enough to carry around all those rolls of paper without falling flat on her face! And her wings, as annoying as they might be, serve as handy blankets when there are none in Amaris' research lab. Plus, she's a Fae, so nobody expects to understand her, as most dragons would probably have a better chance of walking on water. Even better, now that she's a dragon, nobody will try patting her on the head. As far as Sprite is concerned, that's the biggest benefit she's got.

One downside to being a former sprite is that Sprite isn't quite used to being a dragon yet. She still expects to be able to levitate with no effort, and often forgets that with her wings being bigger than her body, folding them is necessary to avoid the risk of being blown away. Her tail is bothersome too, weighing her down and tangling with things, but it's not as bothersome as the fact her clanmates keep telling her to eat. She's never had to do this "eat" as an Arcane Sprite and can't possibly imagine why her clanmates would choose such a time-consuming hobby.
