Research notes from [REDACTED]

ENTRY ONE

When CON decided to have offspring, I had assumed they would be similar to their father in nature. My hypothesis was proven wrong as soon as this thing broke its way out of the egg. The difference in behavior from its brothers was almost immediately noticeable. It was aggressive to its siblings, attacking them in a way that clearly wasn’t playful. It even attempted to attack its own father despite how much smaller it was to him in comparison. I am afraid of what this thing will grow into.

ENTRY TWO

It has been a few weeks since my last observation of this beast, and it is clear that my fears were correct. This thing has grown up into something terrifying. Even the mindless drones make an attempt to stay out of its way. The agreesive behavior it showed as a hatchling has only amplified as it grew. I almost do not want to come back to CON’s hive to study this beast. Almost.

ENTRY THREE

Eventually, I decided to come back here despite my fears and I was met with an interesting sight. The beast had barricaded itself within one of the assimilation chambers with a dragon who was in the middle of transitioning into a mindless drone. Poor guy. While its siblings were seemingly happy about not having their terrifying sister terrorizing them anymore, CON was not as pleased with the situation. The consciousness himself paced back and forth in front of the blocked up entry way. It looked like he was trying to convince the beast to come out; however, due to the deafening roar that came from within the room, it was quite obvious his attempt failed. CON had momentarily stopped pacing and looked directly at the barricaded room. He took a deep breath before beginning to ram headfirst into the building fluid blockade, roaring in frustration. I was quite surprised to see this considering CON’s reputation of being quite docile compared to other consciousnesses. It seemed as if his beast of a daughter had finally brought him to his breaking point. I swiftly made my exit as the barricade broke, not wanting to end up in the middle of what was going to happen. However, as I was trying to get as much distance between me and the hive, I saw the beast herself fly out of the entrance, the half assimilated dragon clutched between her claws. I didn’t waste time getting out of there after seeing that spectacle.
I do wonder where that beast had gone. However, I am more glad about not having that thing in the hive anymore. It’s someone else’s problem now.
