Malachite doesn't remember much of her youth. She remembers the fear of the Colony entering their home, her mother and father trying their best to protect them- she was barely still a hatchling when it happened. Fire is all she remembered after that before waking up to her father crying amongst ashes with her by his side.

She finds herself now in her older age gathering scrap with her dad in the wastes and returning it to the resistance for Zach and others to make use of. She usually has to convince her dad to actually give the scrap away, as he prefers to hoard it to himself- so she has to be pushy with him. One of their most frequent customers is Osteo who makes a lot of weapons- and Malachite finds him entertaining, despite her dad warning he's dangerous. Malachite isn't scared of that at all, given also her girlfriend Cynder is someone her dad warns as dangerous. Cynder was once apart of the Colony, having run away to find her father who was once in the chain of command of the Colony- and she is adamant in repeating the fact she is previously colony, not currently. Malachite likes to go out just the two of them without her dad to look for scrap, while also sometimes seeing if they cannot find a trace of her father in the wastes somewhere.
