Of the light, the sands and of the time itself. Azal, who's very name means eternity, hails from the domain of the Earthshaker, yet appears to be closer aligned to the divine light of the Light Weaver. Azal is an old soul, traveled and mysterious, who helps adventuring groups pass through tricky, dangerous terrains by using his pearl as a navigation tool. The pearl in question seems to have magical properties and in times of rest, when it isn't clutched in his claws, it floats and flies slowly around the pearlcatcher.

Although only rumours exist about Azal and no one has been able to confirm if as much is true, it is said that Azal traveled across the world of Sornieth, crossed the domain of the Shadowbinder and survived Emperor's Wake, only to climb to the top of the Mirrorlight Promenade and bask in the light of the Sundial Terrace. It was there that he was bestowed the sunchaser jewelry that he wears so proudly, but it is a mystery how he survived the journey on his own.
