An iceborne warrior with a heart of light.
Tombolo devoted his life to the ways of a paladin, drawn to it from childhood.
In spite of his considerable age, Tom is a kindhearted and enthusiastic man who loves nothing more than traveling the world and training upcoming warriors and helping those in need.
He loves life, and loves people as well. He sees the potential and good in everyone and will work hard to bring it to light if at all possible.
He hesitates to kill, and will avoid it if at all possible - he far prefers imprisonment with a chance of rehabilitation.
This makes him by far one of Amberspire's most bizarre recruits, given the clan's own policies.
Though always on call in case of emergency, Tom is permitted to travel Sornieth as he has grown so accustomed to.
There are always old friends to visit - and new clans to help - after all.
- Hatchling Biography
Tom was born when modern dragons were just beginning to establish themselves on Sornieth, and as such didn't have much to his name. His upbringing was tough but fair; his parents too focused on his and his siblings' survival to spend much time showing any affection.
He knew they loved him nonetheless, and did his best to be helpful in whatever way he could.
- Adolescent Biography
As his own family clan was established, Tom began to hear word of groups of warriors who had devoted themselves to fighting in glory of the gods - and receiving their protection in doing so.
Hoping to help his own family, he would soon leave in search of such an order.
He traveled far, meeting many growing clans and learning much about Sornieth. He would forgo becoming a warrior of the Icewarden in favor of the Lightweaver, and never did return to his homeclan after the lengthy journey.
- Adult Biography
Tom traveled the world, helping whenever he could, and fighting when he had to. He made more friends than enemies over his many years wandering, but the injuries he slowly but steadily gained - and the eye he lost - eventually had him making the decision to slow down.
He answered a summons from Castle Amberspire, requesting Light warriors, and eventually settled down for the mostpart there.

Notes on Gilder, the mixed breed (golden idol):
His size at birth implied he would be large enough for an average-sized adult to ride, unlike usual skycat outcrosses - but his wings were clearly malformed and useless. Worst of all, he was in fragile health and immediately rejected by his mother.
The breeder, horrified by their mistake and the clearly unwell cub that resulted, was considering euthanasia as they could not afford the specialty care it would require - particularly given that a: the cub was an undesirable mix anyway and b: their best female would not be producing proper, saleable mounts any time soon.
Enter Tom, who happened to be staying in the same town and had been very curious about said breeder. One of the townsfolk mentioned the new cub to the rather obvious cat-lover (I mean he literally walks around with his owlcat, Ellie, on his shoulder), and Tom went to check it out immediately.
Once hearing about the breeder’s plans, Tom offered to buy the cub off of them and soon left with a care sheet, and his new warcat mutt in his arms.
The weak cub quickly bonded with both him and his owlcat, and grew stronger, bit by bit, until it could travel alongside him.
Though Tom was inexperienced - and there were certainly setbacks - he did succeed in raising the cub into a very large, happy adult of stable health.
Gilder the mixed-breed is right around the size of a large warcat, with a mottled coat and a relatively short and scruffy mane with clear streaks of gold throughout. His ears have a somewhat shredded appearance. His wings are quite useless, mostly presenting as awkward tufts of feathers on and around his shoulders, and his tail is long and plumed.
…He’s an odd looking cat, but perfect in Tom’s eyes. And in spite of their size difference, he and Ellie seem to have a mother and son type relationship.
