Loose Story:

A young, rash, and somewhat arrogant gaoler who's eager to prove himself. Having spent his whole life in the Order, he tends to blindly follow their doctrine without thinking about the hows and whys. Thinking outside of direct duty didn't seem to be encouraged by his superiors. He leapt at the chance to join the Seekers when they were reinstated, in part to join a more direct fight against the Shade and in part because he wanted to explore the world beyond the Fortress. He knew that wanderlust didn't really fit into the rest of his mindset, and as such felt terribly conflicted about this desire and tried to keep it out of his thoughts. Kouros tried to simply compromise and turn his energy into proving himself to the Order as and excellent Seeker.

This didn't work out so well for him when he started tracking shade scents in the remote corners of the Windswept Plateaus. There his bullheadedness pushed him into the way of the Grotto, who decided to contain him until they were confident he wouldn't bring more Seekers onto their doorstep. Living among foreigners whom he considered frivolous, cowardly, and altogether ungaoler-like was extremely dissonant for him at first, and he got into arguments with the residents on a regular basis. Over time, he realized that he was actually enjoying his stay more than he had liked his time in the Fortress. These dragons methods for rooting out evil, while kinder and subtler than the gaoler way, had logic in them and suited him better then Seeker methods did. The side of him he's always shoved down in the Order wasn't judged here, but encouraged. He could be himself.

His captivity ended when he decided to join them as a fully fledged member of the clan, never to return to the Fortress. Since then he's served as a guard and is learning how to fight evil on their terms. His bullheaded personality gets in the way of progress sometimes, but he's trying. Really.
He's also taken up the art of sculpting in his free time. He's awkward talking about it and will flat out deny the lessons are taking place, for he's not fully ready to give up his childhood notion that the arts are frivolous and a distraction from duty... but his instructors can tell that he loves it.
