Taught to feed on dragonflesh by her family, Contemn left home to become independent. Having grown up in an environment where it was acceptable to eat the flesh of other dragons, she found it difficult to find another place that did not try to kill her or run her out of their territory. Purely by chance, she stumbled across Grimme, who vaguely reminded her of her father. She does not speak with Grimme because he is entirely unfriendly to everyone, but the others that seem to gather around him have been kind enough to her that she feels safe and content.
