Ukemochi is a member of a coalition of Plague druids and Light clerics, with a united goal of combatting the Shade and, whenever possible, saving those afflicted by it. The living (or, rather, dead) substance Ukemochi focuses on is dead plants. (Her cat, thankfully, is not part of her magic, simply a friend.) While a focus on foliage seems unusual for a Plague dragon, it appears far less strange once one watches her work. She can fell plants in a moment, absorbing any magic or other residual energies from them, and then utilize the dead matter and channel that energy to others or use it herself. The energy can be used for healing or strengthening individuals, and, as such, she usually uses it on her companions or to heal the Shade-afflicted.
While not a pacifist, she can't bring herself to kill any Shade-afflicted that are too far gone. Leaving it to her companions is fine by her (she knows they don't like it either, but there's never any doubt about the necessity), though there have been several close calls that have left her feeling guilty. So, it always helps to carry around a friend- even if it's not part of her magic.
