Jude is from the Undercity of Eidolon. An awful suburb riddled with crime, Jude had nothing to his name and no way to escape this environment he was born into. He just happened to be lucky enough to land a job with the paper union in the Consortium. It was the only way he was able to support him and his older sister, Berendine, who suffered from an intellectual disability and was unable to work. When Jude wasn't working, he was constantly taking care of his sister, their father having abandoned them when they were little and their mother too often wallowing at the bottom of a bottle.

Shortly after their father's disappearance, Berendine and Jude were desperate to escape the house, which had become stifling with their mother's depression. Young and curious, they quickly took to the expansive cave systems of the Undercity. Armed with candles and maps, their underground adventures provided the outlet they needed to ignore their reality.

But they couldn't ignore reality forever, and Jude had to grow into his father's shoes, becoming the sole responsibility for Berendine and their mother, who became too unstable to care for her own children.

The work at the paper union was monotonous and repetitive, but it provided a paycheck every week, and Jude was desperate for the money. As much as he hated the job, he would have done anything for his sister's wellbeing.


He is constantly fighting the emptiness that haunts him.

He's not sure what it is that he seeks but hopes to uncover it on his journeys. Anything to fill the empty hole left behind after the disappearance of his sister.
