Biography

━ "the scapegoat" ━ [tally ∙ eh ∙ sin] ♂ ESFJ ━

a small, whimsically ignorant beggar who currently spends his days either basking in the warmth of the forge's outskirts or regaling a doting audience with an assortment of epic carols- the recitements of his mythos don’t seem to have any correlation with the rest of the population but it is impressive nonetheless.

with a contented sigh, he closed his eyes as he felt the rays of the sun on his weathered face, finding source and stability in the simplest of indulges. today was an especially fortunate day, for he had swiped a loaded coin pouch off of an unfamiliar tourist. he had been stationed at the foot of this mountain longer than anyone can remember, the pigment of his grainy beard has long dissipated with time, but the light in his eyes remain an alluring sight. any coaxes to bring him back up the mountain have been met with failure.

pre unified forges.

decades prior, when one could still see the stars, there the furnace still stood. its height challenged the clouds with arrogance.

said to have been wrestled from the ground by gofannon himself, the soul of the deceased titan still beats in its centre. dozens of villages hustled around this holy landmark, vying for who would be the first to fully conquer its summit.

"do you think it’s always going to be like this?" a young girl joked to a boy at her side

“all things eventually pass, both good and bad” he responded, to be met with a giggle.

while authenticity is often not the desired response to rhetorical questions, deep down, ayesha appreciated these types of answers. it was the job of a serf to keep the heiress entertained, and such a response almost felt humorous.

“i hope you’re right.”

the two puny figures were mocked by the sheer size of the colossal yr wyddfa as they stood at its rural base. despite their apparent insignificance against the grandeur of the landscape, they remained undeterred for this was not enough to scare them from seeking solace beneath the shelter of their beloved, solitary hawthorn tree.

several years after, most of the villages belonged to one of two main states which existed upon the furnace's east and west sides.

several years after, two major clans exist upon the furnace's east and west sides.

working under ayesha meant power, it led to the days where everything he wanted was within reach. but what did he wish for? her happiness, of course.

despite the inferior status of the now young man, they both served as pivotal figures during the formative years of the eastern forge. taliesin took considerable pride in being its cornerstone during this epoch, when he felt indispensable, and when ayesha's regard still resonated deeply with his own. these were days that appeared to stretch indefinitely, until her attention diverted elsewhere. rationalising into the sincerity of her intentions would only lead to an impasse, as the young man found himself consumed by feelings of betrayal, all of which he could only attribute to his own naivety she saw him as more than a worker. this sentiment would sour over time, with the name of his competitor echoing in the recesses of his mind: alois.

word of alois' capture and imprisonment had seemed like a chance for taliesin to come to ayesha's aid once again. he felt sympathy for her loss, which fueled his determination to aid in the climaxing war. the quests he would've devoted his efforts to, just to be the one who saves the day. if only he didn't have the misfortune of meeting that one traveller, who's name he never even learned.

"has anyone ever told you that your statue and build nearly resembles the monarch of the western forge? i happen to know exactly where to obtain a cloak similar to his own, getting you a disguise akin to his, that's well within my capabilities." this is truly an odd way to start a conversation..

the two chatted for quite a while, taliesin's numerous attempts to change the topic only stalled his eventual concession. deep down he knew that he lacked the backbone he so desperately tried to portray, and this unnamed visitor had seen it so effortlessly, almost derisively. for the proposed plan itself, albeit promising, hinged on taliesin assuming the guise of aero, the patriarch of the western forge, and acting as a temporary distraction while entrusting this traveller in to facilitate the ingress and egress. this was all to keep aero's right hand, aldrich, out of the way of further details that taliesin wasn't let in on.. nevertheless, a risk as large as this one was a potential way to win, would it make ayesha happy again?

making it into the territory and through an underground tunnel seemed to go smoother than expected, for a great portion of the enemy efforts were focused on the battles above ground. it was hard to believe someone who claimed to be from foreign lands was so familiar with the layout of this territory, but one knew better than to ask questions. alas, this is where the taliesin's story seems to plateau, for he soon learned he was never actually planned on being rescued.

towards the end of his undeniable defeat after being left alone in enemy territory, the shaman had extended an unexpected mercy, sparing taliesin's life and instead ensnaring him in a spell that had left him in the state of an elderly man at the cost of a vastly lengthened lifetime. as the days blurred into generations, taliesin got to bear witness the regrowth of the territory into a single unified state, one he played an uncredited role in shaping. but that is neither here nor there, for the true burden is that he cannot move on until knowing the fate of she he still loves.

until then he stays loyally at the foot of the towering mountain, trapped in an eternal virgil below the protection of the hawthorn tree as he waits for her return.
