An excerpt from Pippen's journal

Due to TATTERED becoming more and more emotional and unstable as a leader, she has enlisted her minions to create a being specifically to help keep herself calm and happy, an emotion that TATTERED doesn't seem to be used to. In all honesty, I'm not sure these creatures are supposed to experience emotion in the slightest, so it's quite a wonder how TATTERED developed such feelings.

I have named this specific creature PET, as he's treated similar to that of a pet and that it also describes his occupation; a prescribed therapy for TATTERED's growing and unstable emotions. PET himself is always cheery and happy-go-lucky, being kind and giving TATTERED his full attention, and is even kind to me. However, I know that this is just a hollow shell putting on a mask with a smile. Being created with the intention of staying happy all the time, I know that this is just faux-happiness designed to trick TATTERED into potentially having that happiness rub off onto her.

Although no improvement was really shown at first, I have reasons to believe that PET has proven himself to be quite useful towards treating TATTERED. She seems to be a lot more level-headed towards me, although still fairly hateful, still keeps our truce in mind, and doesn't lash out at me as much. PET has even had an effect on my assistant, Tenderwing, who believed PET's happy persona at first. I wonder where this will lead, and if TATTERED will grow calm enough to try to challenge us. If things grow too dangerous, I may have to do something about this creature...
