Tämä nuori lohikäärme viihtyy Rusettien hovin kulisseissa seuraten, mitä hänen ympärillään tapahtuu. Hän on hyvin perillä hovin asioista, niihin kuitenkaan koskaan puuttumatta, sillä hän toimii varjoissa aran luonteensa vuoksi. Silti poika on erittäin arvokas apu lordi Machaonille ja lady Chouchoulle, ja he luottavat Haleineen täysin.

Arka luonne peilautuu jopa Haleinen ulkonäössä, sillä hän viihtyy vaaleanpunaisessa naamiossa eikä ole koskaan paljastanut todellisia kasvojaan kenellekään hovissa. Seikka joka erityisesti aiheuttaa suurta uteliaisuutta hovin ikinuorissa lohikäärmelapsissa. Siksi Haleine vältteleekin näitä ja näyttäytyy usein vain hovin johtohenkilöiden läheisyydessä kuiskaillen yksityiskohtia näiden korviin.

Eräät lohikäärmeet hovissa ovat sitä mieltä, että Haleinella olisi kyky manipuloida muita lohikäärmeitä. Tätä ei kuitenkaan ole todistettu. Haleine ei ole pahansuopa. Hän nauttii kauniista asioista kuten kuka tahansa lohikäärme pitäen usein seuraa hovin puutarhurille.
