Biography

The clan's garden is nestled amid the pine trees north of the lair entrance, and contains a surprisingly wide variety of plants. Some plots contain carefully tended healing herbs, others contain beautifully colored flowers, in full bloom despite the cool, misty weather. Small ditches funnel water in from a nearby stream, and sturdy poles support vines and small trees. In the far corner of the garden, you can see an white-scaled fae with a young guardian, tending to a patch of daisies together. A pair of young mirror dragons, who look to be brother and sister, are chasing each other through the garden in a high-speed game of tag.
In the middle of the lush greenery sits a grey-scaled guardian, quietly tending to a patch of chrysanthemums. His heavily scarred wings are strapped into an elaborate pair of braces, perhaps intended to aid in flight. He startles slightly when you approach, but quickly calms down and turns to greet you. He speaks in a soft, deep voice. "Oh, hello, didn't see you there at first. My name is Kaegro, and I am in charge of the gatherers. We're mostly responsible for gardening and scavenging, which provides the clan with food, healing herbs, lovely flowers, and a variety of other useful materials. Feel free to stay and help me with the weeds, or I can point you in the direction of one of my gatherers if you'd like. My mate, Itov, is over by the daisies, and my younger adopted daughter Andrena should be nearby. I just sent Taver to the storage cave with some food plants, so he should still be there. Jimva went to the healing cave because his lungs were bothering him, poor kid. Selvans went out on a hunting patrol, but if you hang around the lair entrance, you can catch him when he returns. I'm not entirely sure where Azureclaw and Tideshadow are, but given a guess I'd say they're on one of the lower levels of the lair, practicing their ritual magic. As for Indra, I saw him last playing with his adopted siblings in the main cavern. Enjoy your stay!"

~The Wounded Father~
Kaegro grew up in the Everbloom Gardens, but a touch of wanderlust had him traveling the world once he reached adulthood. Eventually he found himself at the lair of Clan Kazinsky, made a few good friends, and decided to stay. Something about the clan felt right to him, and as a guardian dragon, he knew that gut feelings were often guides on the Search.
Early on in his stay, his battling skills caught the eye of the Clan Mother, Martivir, who took him on as her consort. Together they had two children, Ixen and Thurkear, who left to join the Shadowbinder's battle forces as soon as they were old enough.
Martivir began to grow tired of Kaegro, and left to his own devices, Kaegro's attention was captured by a different dragoness: Itov, the quirky fae. The two of them became genuinely close bondmates, and their happiness together could only be topped by the addition of four hatchlings to their little family: Sililuuth, Abyss, Maekrix, and Wieva.
Kaegro loved all of his children, but the tiny fae Wieva was indisputably his favorite. They spent many hours together working in Kaegro's garden just outside the lair, and they had a very close father-daughter relationship. Kaegro knew she was his charge from the moment she was born, but he tried never to let that get in the way of his parenting. His children were always the most important thing to him, even more so than his guardianship.
Like her three siblings, Wieva had ambitions of joining the Shadowbinder's forces once she was of age. Kaegro struggled long and hard between his desire to protect Wieva and his desire to let her live her own life, and he ultimately decided not to follow her to the battlefields. He kept himself content with frequent letters filled with kind words and tiny pressed flowers. In return, he received epic tales of Wieva's venture in the army, and reassurance that his favorite daughter was flourishing in her chosen career.
One week, however, Kaegro's letter went unanswered. A visit to her camp revealed that Wieva's squad had not been seen since setting out on their last mission several days ago. Sick with worry, Kaegro flew out with the search teams in an attempt to find his daughter. When her squad was finally found, they were deeply in trouble. Pinned down by a fell abomination wrought of dead dragons and desperately trying to defend a tiny clan in its wake, Wieva and her compatriots were desperately in need of backup. Kaegro flew into battle alongside his daughter and her comrades, and after a difficult and costly battle the beast lay dead, but not before the damage was done: Kaegro's wings were shattered, and his favorite daughter was blind and comatose due to nearly-fatal head trauma. Wieva was stationed at a central camp to receive around-the-clock care by the army's best healers. Kaegro received healing from Daen and wing braces from Myria at Clan Phantom, and returned to Clan Kazinsky broken and defeated.
Feeling as though he had failed both as a father and as a guardian, Kaegro sank into a deep depression after returning home. In this state he was extremely withdrawn, even from his beloved bondmate. Itov tried her hardest to keep their relationship intact, but eventually she grew weary of Kaegro's neglect and turned to another wildclaw named Rhumour for comfort. Kaegro eventually left to join Clan Phantom, where Daen could keep a closer eye on his wings as they healed. He stayed with his stepdaughter, Naktar, who was dealing with her own issues, and together they made a melancholy duo.
Kaegro remained in his dark state of depression until the day he found an egg near the plague lands. In had been damaged by the creatures that stole it, and the tiny tundra that hatched out was weak and injured. Kaegro's fatherly instincts were stirred by the hatchling, and he stayed by her side many long days and nights to ensure she stayed alive. Even on the days when Acara's powers ran out of control and caused her clanmates to become sick, Kaegro gave her nothing but support and love. With Naktar and Acara, Kaegro realized he had something of a family again.
