WINGS OF DESPAIR

Grima is less of a dragon and more of a presence. It's unsure where he came from or how long he's been here, but he's older than the tower itself and he's never once moved. He's in a state of constant slumber, sealed away in the dark and away from prying eyes. Neophyte mages who wander too far down into the tower's basements say that they can hear the rumbling of his breath, or the slow beating of his heart from beneath the ancient soil.

Elder mages, those more in tune with the mana in the world around them, become uneasy as they traverse the depths. Just being near Grima fills one with a sense of despair, a lingering hatred that gnaws at one's very soul...

at least, until you pull yourself away again and return to the surface.
