Wildstreak

When one thinks of blizzards, one's mind typically turns to frigid winds and heavy snows. But those adverse conditions ill describe some of the storms that grace the Southern Icefield. If one were to bear witness to such a storm, to see the sky light up with the brilliance of a thousand streaks of lightning, to hear the infinite, inevitable roar of thunder drown out the howling of the wind, one might have reason to believe that the world itself had been torn asunder.

Were that not enough, those inhospitable conditions bring one more thing. As the lightning cuts across the sky all around, the wings of a dragon are illuminated by the flashes. And just as suddenly, the form is gone when the lightning strikes again.

There is much speculation about the dragon of the storms. Some believe he is a thrill-seeker, flying amidst the storms for the rush of excitement it brings. Others believe he has lost something, and relentlessly searches among the storms in a desperate attempt to recover it. Yet others believe he isn't really a dragon at all, but rather an omen of some unknown event to come.

Whatever the case may be, when the storms finally draw to a close, so, too, does his flight.
