Matatabi is the name of the Nibi, the two-tailed beast. It was created when the Chakra of the ten-tailed beast was separated as one of the nine tailed-beasts.
For a long time Matatabi lived in a temple. It was rumored by the people in the area to be a human that turned into a living ghost.
During the First Shinobi World War Matatabi was caught by Konoha and sold to Kumogakure as a sign of friendship.
It's last Jinchuriki was Nii Yugito. The beast was sealed in her when she was two years old and she had to train hard to control Matatabi's power.

Matatabi has an enourmous supply of chakra. Although it mostly choses close-combat and raw strength, it can fire a strong Tailed Beast Ball from it's mouth.
It can also use Fire-based Jutsus and breathe fire.
