Light. Effervescent, mercurial. Seen, revered, but intangible - incorporeal. Light has been there since the dawn of time, a ubiquitous presence that covers everything it touches, chasing away the pervasive dark. So special, so crucial, mortals worked to harness light for themselves. Through fire, through magic, through the wonder of electricity. Though successful, mortal ingenuity could not hold a candle to the power of the Sun. The great Light-Bearer, that shone clear and true through the dark vacuum of space, and gave life to the world caught in its gravitational shine.

Sunlight washed the world in warmth and glow. Gave life to the trees and the animals. Gave guidance to the humans and the dragons. Temples erected in its honour, religions spawned from its greatness. Without the Light, without the Sun, there would be no life. An ever-important cosmic entity worlds revolved their existence around. So when the Shade came and gripped the world, Light was snuffed from the sky, and life was snatched from the ground. Mortals fought for the Light, their desperation was so strong, so palpable, that when the pillar cracked, the raw energy clashed and formed into a new, singular entity. His name was Celestial, God of Sunlight, Protector of Life.

Celestial, born of sunlight and cosmic energy, gave strength to the Sun. To brighten the beams and cut through the dissipating Shade - to return life to the planet. Quietly he worked, reaching every corner of the world with his light. Dancing through the sunbeams, upholding his vow to the world. But there was one corner he could not touch, a country plunged in darkness, swearing featly to a deity much like him, but different in every way: a goddess of Moonlight. Curious, he watches from the neighbouring country of Light, where he carries out his purpose as Guardian of Life.
