investigator | collector

A lover of mysteries, Mina collects stories and strange trinkets. Endlessly seeking to expand her collection, she often travels to places where bizarre and impossible things are said to have happened.

An endless source of trivia on the strange and inexplicable, she likes nothing better than to share her collection with others and impress them with her knowledge. Legendary creatures rarely glimpsed by dragons, lost artifacts from the Second Age, the secret activities of beastclans, and much more - her stories are numerous and detailed, but not always reliable.

More than once, tricksters have sold her artifacts that later proved to be useless junk, and many of the stories she eagerly listens to are nothing more than fantasy. Rather than letting this discourage her, she's only become more determined; the only way to separate truth from fiction is to seek it out. So seek it she does.

Her relentless pursuit of knowledge beyond the commonly accepted truths she was raised on has led her into many dangerous situations. Her quick wits, quicker feet, and growing collection of artifacts have always gotten her out again.
~~~
Her pursuit is an unending chase. She must travel from one clan to the next, gathering all she can.
She had grown complacent, content to rest for far too long. Now, she would strike out into the world, traveling near and far and back again to scrape up every trinket and tale from Sornieth.
Looks like this collector wandered far from her home lair (Vertigris) because she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but she would be very grateful!
The Lush Skyisland wrote:
Mina came across a particularly lush skyisland in the Hoverview vale. while she was no botanical expert she could see that many of the plants growing on this island belonged to different domains. Such a sight intrigued her and she began exploring. She eventually found a well-tended garden blooming with many different crops and fruits. She plucked a carrot out of the ground, and examined it. right at that moment she heard someone behind her "Please do not uproot the carrots. they are not yet ready to be harvested." the calm voice said Mina turned around, startled, and saw a striped wildclaw. She said nothing, as she was both startled and confused why a wildclaw cared so much about plants, and they are strict carnivores. They both stared at eachother, until the wildclaw spoke again "My name is parsnip, yours?" "Mina." She replied "what are you doing here growing crops?" Parsnip took the carrot that Mina took and promptly reburied it. "I like plants. I like seeing them flourish." Mina was confused, wildclaws are normally very aggressive but here's one that just likes plants? "how did you get so many different growing in one place?" She asked "I didn't need to do anything special. i sow the seeds and they grow." Mina sighed. she assumed that she would get no answers from this dragon. she told Parsnip that she had to go, and left abruptly.
while she did not learn how so many plants could grow in one place, she was able to harvest some of the mushrooms on the skyisland for later research...
Where better to go for the pursuit of knowledge than a Light clan?
Mina had heard that this place is haunted, and no wonder, for it being right in the middle of the Emperor’s Wake. The welcoming committee assures her that most of the dragons here wouldn’t have chosen to live here, it’s just that they were here first and just didn’t move when the creature showed up, but Mina’s not sure that it makes that much of a difference.
No matter! There are plenty of artisans and craftsdragons and unexplained phenomena here, so it’s perfect. She wanders through the gardens on her way to the ruins where the ghosts are rumoured to hang out, admiring the non-native flora that’s clearly been lovingly transplanted here from somewhere else. As with the first clan she visited, though, plants aren’t her area of expertise, so she only pokes at an especially bright one curiously as she passes by.
A couple minutes pass, and she’s feeling a little lightheaded. A couple more minutes, and she thinks she needs to sit down. It must be the sun - she hasn’t spent this much time in Light territory before, so it must be... Her thoughts trail off, scatter, disorganized in a way that starts to scare her a little. When did she lie down? Why is the sky so... bright? Why can’t she catch her breath?
She hears a disappointed-sounding tongue-click from somewhere above-behind her, but she can’t make her neck muscles cooperate enough to look. Then a heavy, forceful paw pins her down, pushing at her collarbone so she can’t move, and she only has a moment to panic before someone’s pouring something down her throat.
When she wakes up again, she’s well away from the gardens, in a shaded dusty patch of ground just barely within the clan’s territory. She still doesn’t feel great, but she swallows down her nausea and pushes herself up. Maybe she should go look somewhere else. Maybe some other Light clan. Something about this place doesn’t feel right.
