Biography
Isaiah is a reserved and thoughtful dragon above all else. Many take his tendency to silence as aloofness, or assume that he is cold, but in truth, he is only cautious, and has been since he broke the shell. This caution has been heightened by observation of the cruelty and carelessness other dragons are capable of.
Understandably, he takes no action without careful consideration first. He is slow to warm to new dragons, but once his friendship is won--through compassion, gentle persistence, and the quiet sharing of conversation--he is extremely loyal, and will go to unbelievable lengths to protect his friends.
As a child of the Icewarden, he had many long, cold evenings to fill, and he spent them reading all the histories his clan had gathered in their little library. He grew to be passionate about the stories he read and the preservation of the past, and began collecting stories of the Icefield for a personal history of his own. But he was interested in other realms, too; the scrolls he read lit a strong curiosity in him. Slowly, the pull to explore grew stronger, and he left the Icefield, seeking new stories and knowledge.
He has mated only once, with a beautiful golden dragon who he met in the Ashfall Waste. She was brilliant, blazing bright with lively energy that drew him in, and full of interesting conversation. Over time, they became closer friends and then mates, and part of him hoped--though no promises were ever made, their coupling was so quickly begun--that perhaps he had found a companion, a partner to share his innermost thoughts and observations with. But soon after their egg hatched, she disappeared, leaving only an apologetic note to explain that she had felt the pull of the Flamecaller.
Her disappearance deeply hurt him. Isaiah is still raw from this experience, though it was some time ago, and blames himself for not being cautious enough. The Ashfall Waste had nothing to hold him anymore, so he now seeks a new clan. It will take patience and time for new friends to convince him to open his heart again, but a worthier clanmate could never be found, and he is the most gentle and steadfast mate a dragon could wish for.

8/3/14: With a long journey from the Ashfall Waste behind him and an equally long winter stretched out ahead, Isaiah has made the (somewhat reluctant) decision to winter in the Gladveins. It's not a set promise to join the clan, but Ranir and Belenril were quite alright with this arrangement, and that alone is enough to put him somewhat at ease.
Much of his introduction to jungle life comes courtesy of Pirouette, who invited him into the lair in the first place.
10/5/14 -- At some point, tours of the forest turned into quiet evening reading sessions together. At some further point, those evening reading sessions turned into a pair that's seldom seen apart.
Both swear up and down that they're taking it slowly, and the rest of the clan can find little reason to disbelieve them. They've noticed that both Isaiah and Pirouette have been smiling more freely than ever before, and that's really all that matters.
11/23/14 -- Today marks the hatching of Isaiah and Pirouette's first nest together. It's a bittersweet occasion, set against the news that Ravenclaw has gone to serve the Tidelord, and he may be just the slightest bit overprotective of the new little ones as a result. That three of them are tiny, fragile Faes hardly helps matters.
In particular, he possesses a curious fear that they're going to wander off into the jungle and be snatched up by giant birds.
5/5/16 -- Isaiah is indeed a reserved dragon at the best of times; you can tell because these are the best of times. What started as an unexpected rapport with Boreas has become an unshakable friendship.
Once upon a time, he was certain he would never love again. Then, when Pirouette came into his life, he was equally certain he could not love her more. Both of these things turned out to be very untrue.
At long last, Isaiah is home.
