Born from rot and disease in a cesspool deep within Scarred Wasteland, from his hatching all Carnage has known is his namesake. From an early age the flesh began sloughing off his body, leaving rotting scales and bones behind. Such a sight is not becoming to others, and as such Carnage was left to grow up on his own, never learning the safety and comfort of being in a clan, always relying on himself. As such, Carnage is travel hardened and self dependent, relying on the land and what he can get with his own claws to survive. After a long and trying childhood and adolescence alone in the Scarred Wasteland, Carnage was less of a dragon and more of a beast; he barely spoke, and when he did so was in short and simple sentences. Communicating with other dragons was hard, and making friends was even more so. His appearance drove most off in fright.

One day, while out looking for food, Carnage came upon a group of haggard looking dragons hunting in the Scarred Wasteland. Drawn to them, he approached, and for the first time in his life he was not turned away. The dragons introduced themselves as Nadia, the scavenger, Davik, the alchemist, and Maksima, the swordsman, each a warrior from a clan known as the Abiding Strainwound. After learning about them and their clan, Carnage wearily followed them back to their lair, where he was introduced to the sight of more like him. He couldn’t immediately change his ways, not after living alone for so long, but after being welcomed by Pestis, Carnage dedicated his life to helping those like himself find a new home, just like he had with the Abiding Strainwound.
