"The golden opulence of night shall swipe away the oppressors that plague the splendor of the sacred silence."

Legend has it that the once-sacred light of the moon oppresses great evils. And as all stories have a fragment of truth in them, this tale is actually a well-preserved account of the existence of Nã-Raenth. However, their magic and power has long since faded, and accordingly, the moon has lost its golden glow and purifying power, which had once been lethal to nocturnal demons.

Unless one has lived millennia upon millennia, their eyes would not have witnessed the sight of a once-radiant moon, shimmering in the velvety sky like a fine jewel. And indeed, the moon had been crystalline, forged and tempered by the powers of the wise sage called Nã-Raenth, who traveled the world aiding the desolate and the downtrodden. When she finally passed, those she had helped wept bitterly, enough for their tears to have filled a sea.

Not willing to let Raenth's kindness disappear into history, the masses combined their powers, and sealed them into her tomb. And it was then floated into the sky along with a procession of lights, which set the night aglow to the point it was indistinguishable from day. The body of Raenth then settled into the outer reaches of space, resting in orbit around the planet. And eventually, it began to shine with its own light. It seemed that even in death, the glow of her glory never faded.

Eternally she would have stood, in defense of those who braved the darkness. A beacon to the lost, guiding them back to an illuminated path. Yet, the one who loved Raenth was not content to watch her from the earth. But in their desire to capture her light, it was extinguished, and Raenth ceased to shine. The moon lost its hallowed power to burn demons and fiends, and thus, it has been as such ever since, due to the folly of one who chased after what could not be attained.
