Biography
Aranwen’s apprentice.
When Adonis read the stars telling him to find a woman named Aranwen, he was expecting some kind of witch or mystic. Not a dragon skilled in charisma and attraction. Not that he’d complain, after all it’s much nicer to have a beautiful and charming dragon who’s up to date in every social circle as his teacher than some dusty old dragon who lives secluded in a tower.
Adonis sat, staring at the night’s sky. The third full moon since his hatching was to be the date of his future. Everyone’s date is different. His was a warm spring’s night, crickets chirped and fireflies danced in the corners of his eyes. He could feel the clock ticking faster now, to midnight, to see what his future holds.
The grassy clearing seemed to draw
sharp inhale. The chittering of the forest stopped almost in perfect unison. His eyes were glued to the sky as each star individually turned red. With what felt like an exhale, the moon turned red as well. He physically could not take his eyes off it. His vision blurred as pictures became clear in his mind.
A beautiful, female, pearlcatcher appeared in his vision. She posted a sign onto a board in what appeared to be a town center. “Accepting Apprentice: Contact Aranwen”
Just as his normal sight was returning, the gem on his head began to glow. It seemed to urge him forward. Adonis stood just in time for the red glow in the sky to fade. He took flight. He hadn’t a clue where he was going or what he would be learning, but his vision couldn’t be wrong. This magic knew where he belonged and wouldn’t lead him to somewhere he would be unhappy
