Caer are female demons living in the shape of swans among the birds. They share one mind and see and hear everything one of them witnesses. Some Caer are protecting the lake where the water temple of the oracle Cernunnos lies.
Caer are considered omniscient but they are known for not meddling in other demon's business. But the demons tell stories about the Caer helping out or guiding whomever was kind to them. Therefore swans in general are often considered a sign of good luck and should not be harmed at any cost. Swans are often held in the gardens of wealthy demons who try to please the Caer. Most demons however will never even know if they are in the presence of a Caer or a normal swan.
Caer keep their young humanoid appearance until their death as their individual lifespan adds up to only about 20 years.

Caer rarely show themselves in their humanoid form. They are known for their beautiful voices and their love for music.
Euphemia's mother cared for some swans which made her daughter – who was later known as Lilly – a friend in the eyes of the Caer. When she lost her ability to speak Lilly would often visit the swans in the lake of her hometown's parks and enjoy the silent company of the Caer.
