━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ PRESENT Hilja's presence allowed the clan to pick out and defend a better lair, the den itself named after her timely arrival and rescue – Hoarfrost Caverns. When not making her rounds to scout for threats, she assists in helping the others with lair improvements. The use of pine wood to add structural integrity is new to her, but Hilja likes the scent it brings. In an effort to convince herself that it was alright to delay her mission as a Seeker, Hilja has taken it upon herself to make sure the laws of the clan are followed. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ HISTORY A newly-made Seeker, Hilja had set out with the full intention of scouring every last place that her intuition – and her nose – led her. When the young Gaoler had come across the small clan near the coast a certain scent caught her attention. Her orders were still freshly given and her Order remade. There was no good reason for another Gaoler to have made it this far before her, at least, not in her mind. No, if there was another from the Order here they were in direct violation of interfering with their mission, given the nearby scents of non-Gaoler. A traitor, then. Betraying the Order is a serious offense and while not in her jurisdiction, it was still something to investigate – quietly, of course. No need to reveal herself sooner than necessary. The source of it all was a Gaoler slightly younger than herself, one newly appointed to Sentry duty if Hilja had to guess, as they kept watch over the comings and goings of... baby Gaolers and baby not-Gaolers? No, the scent wasn't right for that, something which convinced Hilja that she would need to continue her surveillance. That was how she discovered the frequency of predators that passed through the area, some of which almost found the hidden den. It was the Hoarfrost Mauler attack that changed her mind on remaining unseen. The so-called Sentry was doing a terrible job of killing the beast, even though she matched it in size. By the Chains of the Wardens, even the weird children were joining in the fight to aid the failing Sentry! Hilja leapt into the battle, taking everyone involved by surprise, and quickly subdued the Hoarfrost Mauler – much to the immediate admiration of the weird children and the suspicion of the Sentry. Maybe her mission could be put on hold for a bit... Just until she could knock some sense into the Sentry, of course.
