entry one - today i saw something totally unlike anything i’ve ever seen before, and i’ve traveled all over sornieth. i’ve been in this particular backwoods part of dragonhome (my homeland!) for a few weeks, searching for an endangered species of beetle so i can attach a tracking beacon to a few (absolutely not harmful to the insect, absolutely vital to prevent their extinction). imagine my surprise when i basically run headfirst into the creature i’ve nicknamed sentinel.

it stared at me with these otherworldly, emotionless eyes, vaguely nocturne in shape but unmistakably alien. it didn’t speak, merely let out a few cicada-like chirps and disappeared before i had a chance to move. i’ve found myself enraptured. is it an insect or a dragon… or something else entirely? are there more?

i’ve written a few of my fellow entomologists in hopes that some of them have encountered something similar. the anticipation is killing me.
