↬ HISTORY

Ahuzam was born to a pair of healers with two older siblings and another two his age. In his youth he was often teased by his siblings, who called him “Eyes” more often than his actual name. His parents, knowing a fair bit of alchemy on top of their healing knowledge, embarked on a quest to cure him of the multi gaze. A quest which Ahuzam knew was doomed to fail; all the books he had studied held no cure, and besides, it wasn’t even a disease. The endeavor was over and done with in less years than he could count on one paw.

He studied alchemy too, not to find a cure but to try and find some way to conceal it. An invisibility cloak would’ve been nice, but oh, weren’t those hard to find. With his own experiments yielding no results, he simply took to wearing a purple cloak to cover the eyes, even if it was hot.

Several years after leaving his parents, he met a pretty female Imperial named Juliet who he was almost instantly enamored with. He feared showing her the truth, but when the time came he was shocked to find that, though slightly unnerved, she didn’t immediately leave. No, it wasn’t genetic, he remembered telling her. Neither of his parents had it, none of their parents had it, and his siblings certainly didn’t have it. Besides, the books said nothing about the multi gaze being genetic. Everything pointed to it being absolutely random.

Time passed and eventually the two had a clutch of eggs. It was a small clutch, but when the time came and the eggs hatched, both parents were shocked and alarmed. The first child, a little male, looked normal despite a slight, nearly unnoticeable facet in his eyes. The second, however, was a little female with fiery orange eyes running down the length of her body.

Angry and disgusted at his ‘lie,’ Juliet took their son and left, leaving Ahuzam with his daughter. He looked after her, naming her Julia after her mother, taking her along on halfhearted travels. At some point he and little Julia met what would become their family, all dragons with the multi gaze that were shunned and ostracized for some reason or another. The little group came to the unspoken consensus that they needed to find some way to change how others viewed them, and so the Carnival was formed. Ahuzam threw his purple cape away along with his old name, instead donning a semi-transparent black cloak and adopting the name Ahuzam, which he knew meant ‘possessing vision.’

Ahuzam’s Carnival travels all over Sornieth, performing for those who will see them and taking in those with nowhere else to go.

Ahuzam learned and mastered the art of creating illusions. He often walks around the carnival setting, creating a complex Emperor illusion to wear. Guests are often alarmed when initially spotting the Emperor, but the simple act often draws applause in the end.
