Biography

R I P L E Y
Hive Researcher

LOG 01

Gone... they're all gone...

We were attacked by... strange creatures. They looked like dragons, but something was off about them. Black as night with insectoid movements, it was as if they were possessed or something, all moving in sync. There were so many, they quickly overwhelmed us. My friends... I was the only one who got away. I hid from a distance, watching as the creatures dragged them off.

My friends were still struggling, not dead. What were they doing with them? Whatever they were doing, I was too terrified to follow and find out...

Maybe... maybe I can try to find these creatures again, see if anyone else has any idea what they could be. There were so many, I can't be the only one who has seen them.

LOG 02

I've spoken with other dragons, and have discovered that these mysterious creatures are part of a species called "The Hivemind". The reason for their resemblance to dragons is because, well, the main way they increase their numbers is through "assimilating" dragons. I have no doubt my friends suffered that fate, being transformed into "drones".

I find it... intriguing. Hives across Sornieth, all controlled by one "Conciousness" controlling up to hundreds of mindless drones. Though most of these hives consist of dependent shells, these Conciousnesses seem quite intelligent, working efficiently to guarantee their hive's survival. It's quite impressive, even.

I've heard that there are a few dragons daring enough to study these hives, to learn more about them. I think I might become a "Hive Researcher" myself, these beings have piqued my curiosity. And after all, as a child of the Plaguebringer I must do what I can to survive, and these hives seem to be a prime example of survival at its finest. Perhaps we could gain something from their ways.
