THEY THOUGHT THEY COULD CORRUPT ME
TURN ME INTO A MINDLESS PUPPET
BUT THEY CANNOT CORRUPT SUCH PERFECTION
I AM DIVINE, HOLY
MY WILL DEMANDS THIS SCOURN TO BE ERADICATED FROM THIS WORLD
THE HIVEMIND WILL BE DESTROYED
I COMMAND IT

Notes from Ripley's Logs
I met Empyrean at one of the gatherings "Resistant" dragons go to discuss the current going ons of the Hivemind. When I first saw him I thought he was a divine, sent by the gods to help dragonkind defeat the hivemind. He sure seemed like it preaching about how the Hivemind will be destroyed and all. Oh how wrong I was.
Turns out the poor fool was a dragon who had gone through a failed assimilation, thus the dark carapace of his body. He had been a vain Wildclaw who naturally had the markings of starmap and constellation, obsessed with his own celestial appearance. From what others told me he was never like this before, the failed assimilation seems to have partially broken into his mind, messing with his mental state.
The effects are interesting, to say the least. He believes himself to be an actual blessing sent to dragonkind, whos purpose is to purge Sornieth of the scourge that is the Hivemind and the Shade. The failed assimilation seems to have also triggered his natural aggressive Wildclaw instincts, something his peers have noted to be a new development. I've seen him fight, he couldn't take on a sleepy Tundra. Despite this he claims he's rid Sornieth of plenty of mindless drones and is eager to prove to other he can.
Curious about the effects of a failed assimilation, and admittedly not wanting the delusional dragon to hurt himself, I let Empyrean join me on my quest to learn more about the Hivemind. He can be annoying, but I constantly find myself intrigued. Sometimes when we're scouting out small hives he describes what I can only imagine him faintly feeling the wavelength, something I had rarely heard about when talking to others about the Hivemind. It worries me though, if he can acknowledge the wavelength, how much of his mind has become partially coded to be that of a drone? To be safe I never bring him close to Weaver Hive, the consciousness has proven to be quite alluring to drones, and I don't want to lose him...
