Biography

EEKVSib.gif Aster

To know the worth of a geode, one must first split it down its center, then pry it apart. It requires thorough exploration, careful inspection. The peaks and valleys of every crystal must be given consideration, and the color of each sparkle is critical to reaching a conclusion. Some geodes are plain in the end, and others worth treasure beyond imagination. But to know, one must first raise the mallet and strike the first blow.

So too with life, in Aster's eyes. A life properly lived cannot be done in a single place, a lonely state. It requires a journey, whether physical or spiritual, to reach the very best of its potential. The greatest obstacle is the first step, though. Swinging the mallet takes courage. Breaking the geode open, exploring the world created in the fissure, is daunting.

Nonetheless, he has done it. He has taken his fear, his worries, he has shaped them into something like stone, and he has split them wide open to make sense of what lies inside. And from there, he has wandered.

The world has taken him in many directions. For a time, he wandered Dragonhome with clans of Snappers still in the circuits carved from the earth by their ancestors long ago. He saw wonderful things traveling that realm, like the fabled remains of the Pillar, and the bones of some beast still unnamed. For a time, he even applied himself to archaeology, helping local clans excavate their lands and make sense of the world that had once been.

But that was too stagnant. The loops always came to a close, the bones yielded too few conclusions, and still something wasn't right. The digging had started Aster on the path to purpose, to making sense of the worth of his life, but it wasn't a complete answer yet.

He couldn't let go of the digging, though, and that was what led him to the gem market that thrived in the Earthshaker's domain. He wouldn't have to be restricted to a single region, for all corners of Sornieth had their share of gemstones to be uncovered, and it would allow him to make use of the skills he'd picked up as an archaeologist for hire.

And so he chose to travel around Sornieth, back to his homelands in the Mirrorlight Promenade, to the Carrion Canyon in the charged mesas home to many a Ridgeback, and all the way to Cloudscrape Crags of the Southern territory, in hopes of finding gemstones exclusive to each corner of Sornieth, and to uncover the remnants of days gone past, before the rise of the flights and dragons inhabiting each.

I genuinely just really think all your dragons are beautiful. Each of them have the most gorgeous color palettes and they're all so different! Each is lovely in their own way and it was kind of hard to choose just one
This guy won out in the end:

This guy is just so well rounded in every aspect. His colors are well balanced and beautiful, the apparel enhance him in such a lovely way and his lore is both well written and based on an honestly mesmerizing concept. The way its presented, with basis in the stones and how they should be carved and how that reflected on his life and his general philosophy and outlook on life. Its almost poetic, especially the first paragraph and it just fits him so well! When you're done reading and you look at him once more it just makes sense, that dragon really looks like that's the life he'd live. The warm stained that colors him almost like the clouds at sunset, covered in subtle hints of different shades of blue; the gemstones in the cascades, the wingsilks and the sanddune rags. It balance out the warmth of his colors and covers him up nicely. I couldn't believe he was wearing that few pieces of apparel, his outfit just seems so complete and finished! The skull has the exact same color as his belly and it really makes it look like that's the natural shape of his head!

I imagine he laughs very rarely
