With such a powerful mage as a mother, you'd expect her hatchlings to be just as talented if not more so. Angmar's eyes betray him. The elder son has no magical ability to speak of, which concerned his father and disappointed his mother. As Malta drifted away towards her other hatchlings, Elysium gave Angmar what he needed to succeed. A strong heart leads to a strong mind and a strong mind leads to a strong dragon.

With that advice, Angmar went off to train as a knight and used his size and power to his advantage. He excelled in his studies, improved in his martial arts, and found a sense of purpose defending the weak. Joking around with his fellow students that he was born a Guardian, Angmar travels Sornieth serving the underdogs and giving importance to any creature, not just those with talent.
