Ghost was born mute, he could neither speak nor hear. His pack abandoned him when he was only a small pub. There is no place for the weak in the Scarred Wastelands. But Ghost wasn’t weak. He was just different. His other senses were heightened compensating for his deafness, he could smell and see better than any of his siblings. Left on his own to die, he wandered through the deserts searching for food and shelter and trying to avoid predators larger than himself. At first, almost everyone was stronger than he was, he lived of rats, insects and carcasses. But he survived. He grew bigger and stronger until he could finally compete with the most ferocious beasts for prey. One day, he found an injured mirror near a water hole. The mirror was more dead than alive and Ghost was torn between ending his sufferings or trying to save him. He chose the latter. The red mirror was the first of his own kind who didn’t think he was either stupid or weak. They learned to communicate via sign language and gestures and soon became friends. Together, they decided to leave the Scarred Wasteland and eventually joined Cain’s pack.

Ghost is still not used to being part of a huge pack. None of the other members seem to mind his inability to speak, and most have figured out that he cannot hear anything either. And yet, they accept him because he is an able hunter and fighter despite his disabilities. Ghost often roams the woods alone and has hardly any contact with any dragons outside his pack. The only exception is Neacal, the Clan’s Beastmaster.
