Biography

Fields
End Boss

tumblr_ouojksXigo1tddvg0o4_640.png
Woe to those who believe that the Training Fields are devoid of all bosses, for an infernal terror roams the very plains one may view as peaceful. She lurks in the shadows, luring dragons in with promises of easy pickings and riches before devouring them, body, mind, and soul. She is the formidable final boss of the first coliseum venue, the mastermind of all missed Eliminates and Scratch stone drops. She is the monstrously powerful entity the Training Fields are named after, and if dragons knew of her existence, they would tremble at the whispered name of Fields.

Standing at the formidable length of 0.74 meters, Fields is a force to be reckoned with. Not only is she gifted with the kind of cunning that leaves you facedown in a pile of broken glass shards and no loot, she also embodies the entire magical force of the Training Fields, allowing her to use magic to a nearly endless capacity. Her magical abilities and wit are enough to overwhelm a lesser dragon, but those are mere ornaments to what makes her truly terrifying. After all, a Fae wouldn't be able to become the boss of the Training Fields if she didn't know a few nasty tricks up her figurative sleeves. And nasty tricks she has aplenty, for Fields is the master of the one form of atrocity no sane dragon would dare to approach… the mastery of lace.

And yes, it's as terrifying as it sounds. That pile of green lace she wears may look innocent, but don't be fooled, for the laces are Fields' greatest assets. With them, she is capable of weaving traps completed with rigs, pulleys, and springs that will leave you hanging upside down above a sacrificial altar for the Ragepuffs the moment you step into it. But that's not all, no. Fields is also capable of using the laces on her wings like a lasso, quickly stretching out the lengths of green fabric to ensnare her enemies. When there are no enemies, she can use them to swing from tree to tree, bush to bush, Familiar to Familiar, until she finds an enemy to use them on. The flowers on the lace pieces are energy reserves and can even be plucked and thrown at enemies as environmentally friendly bombs! Though there remains the question of whether you're helping or harming the environment by creating craters where encroaching dragons once stood.

The laces blend perfectly into the background of the Training Fields, but with the special Fae sap Fields smears onto them, they have the ability to stick onto anyone unfortunate enough to be caught by them. Of course, most dragons won't willingly pick up laces smeared in the gooey substance, and so Fields weaves them between rocks and bushes like spider webs and lays in wait for unwary victims. This doesn't work the slightest on any dragon that's paying attention, but you'd be surprised by how many dragons let their guard down in the Training Fields.

Not much is known about Fields other than her master of the terrible weapon lace and her penchant for ambushing just about everybody, but perhaps Fields prefers it that way. After all, while the idea of a boss in the Training Fields might scare some dragons away, it'd likely attract just as many of those looking for a good fight. And despite the fact Fields enjoys laying out traps and shooting dragons out of the air with her magical bolts, it's just not fun when said dragons are trampling over each other and her territory in a competition to see who can defeat her first. Besides, as long as nobody knows much about her, she can relax and cheerfully mess with dragons in the Training Fields without anyone ever suspecting her.

So if you ever grind in the Training Fields for three hours straight without seeing a single Broken Flower Pot dropping, that's Fields messing with you.
