LORE WIP
- Sister of Lucas and the adopted Eveline. Recently orphans - but hey, she and the sibling she actually cares about (against her better judgment) are adults now, even if she's the only one with a stripe of maturity; life could be far worse.
- Had a happy childhood - she, Lucas, and Eveline are "military brats", but she was born during home leave to the Viridian Labyrinth. Got to grow up adventurous, well-protected but practical and self-sufficient, and with a healthy curiosity playing among rivers and woods with her big brother! Liked to make friends with birds and bugs!
- Stuff kind of... "got weird" when Eveline came along - she, Lucas, and their parents started getting sick regularly; they'd sometimes wake up with patches of mushrooms growing on their scales. She strongly suspects that whatever they caught is what killed their parents, (and, well, she's right) - they hardly even seemed to notice, and went back off to battle as if nothing was wrong when called upon... and as if the mushrooms hadn't also started spreading to their lair and choking out the nearby flora and fauna.
- The last place the family was camped all together was the Tangled Wood. The family of five were given a place to stay by Thane and Oakley, and Zoe, Mom, and Dad did their best to do their part in thanks up until Mom and Dad succumbed to their illness. Zoe doesn't feel nearly as "at home" in the Tangled Wood as she'd like - but seeing the state the lair she grew up in is in today would just depress her if she went back; and both her remaining immediate family and her "new family", of sorts, are here.
- That isn't to say she still has a great relationship with Lucas, and she never had a good relationship with Eveline - think a dog that seems on edge when the couple it lives with bring a new baby home, then add the whole illness thing. Both she and Lucas still experience bouts of sickness, but Zoe experiences significantly stronger symptoms.
- As for Lucas, he just... kinda started wanting to play with her less and less in favor of "doing his own thing" as they grew up, and in turn, his total lack of sorrow over their parents' deaths and clear, uh, difference in values from her have kind of put her off of trying to reach him again.
- As far as relationships outside of family, however, she's on good terms with Thane, Lysander, and Hermia in particular, as someone who gets along with older dragons - they view her as a helpful and good kid, and she can talk with Thane like an honorary jaded old-timer. Though it originally started off of trying to help her cook up poultices for her flares-up of scale and feather infection, he's also helped her start getting into alchemy!
- Frank and Julie like to chill with her, meanwhile, ironically, as a dragon their own age - and hangin' with them and their pack kind of makes her think of what it could be like if she and her brother were a little more on each other's levels; Julie, in particular, she's bonded with in a way kinda akin to "somewhat wilder and more rebellious slightly younger sister who I'm not that close to in our young adulthood, but we still have a pretty good relationship". On that note, she appreciates Ibuki for being someone who can connect with Lucas while still managing to be a sweetheart, Angie likes to ask her for tales about the Viridian Labyrinth, a sense of nostalgia and sentimentality off that same note also draws her to Aja, and while the two don't talk much, she appreciates Tallulah for having written a little "monument to family and its memory" after Mom and Dad's passing. She also gets on decently with Korekiyo, in a "oh, that one kid I sit in that one class with! They seem nice" way.
