Timebomb

Timebomb, however courageous, was very very dumb. He always ran blindly into situations that could get him very badly hurt without even thinking, often resulting in him being knocked unconscious. This had been a problem ever since he was young, when he'd run aimlessly around the den and smack headfirst into anything he found remotely interesting. Between himself and his spunky sister Amber, his parents had quite a lot on their claws.

So, it was high time the kids be sent off. There was a clan nearby that promised to raise hatchlings without any adult supervision until they were mature enough to return home and begin working. While Amber protested the thought of going to the strange place and ran away, Timebomb took the opportunity with open arms! It was a chance to get away from home and find himself.

Though, it seems the only thing he ended up finding was a horrible disease.

They called it gembond. It materialised in the form of strange rocks, slowly spreading through the host's body until it shut down their organs and turned them into a living statue. No one knew how to stop it.

Timebomb quickly left for home once he was deemed mature, determined to spend as much time at home as he could before his inevitable demise. He soon found his time limited, though, as the disease had put him in a comatose state not long after he returned. He would've been a goner in a matter of days if it hadn't been for her.

A beautiful skydancer. Her name was Cywren. She told him that she'd just recently come from a strange underground lair and was eager to explore the world. She'd studied medicine for years under her father, her old clan's doctor, and it was enough to stop Timebomb's demise from progressing any farther. She'd saved his life!

From then on, Timebomb dedicated himself to keeping Cywren safe on her adventures. She was adamant at first, but soon warmed up to the idea of having another companion. Who knows? They may even be more than just friends...
