Witch Doctor
The first thing they noticed were his eyes. Bright, white, sightless, and completely contrary to his parents’ Wind-green eyes. The parents, in horror, silently kicked the half-hatched Tundra from the egg and stole a different egg from another nest to raise.
The black Tundra found his way back home, but was rejected again. By the fourth attempt he began to realize that his parents didn’t want him. By the tenth (or perhaps eleventh; he’d lost count by this time), he accepted the fact. Against every fiber of his being, the hatchling left one final time. And so the first lesson of life was imprinted in the young dragon’s mind: Life is cruel.
