Biography
the prisoner, immortal rogue just another experiment gone wrong |
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The royal alchemist played with false life and inorganic cells, toying about to find an answer to the plague that had consumed the island's population. Instead of a roaring success, however, they created something very much alive. A hazy, greenish sludge that gathered and rolled about as a mass, it stole the body of a headless prisoner, crawling into the gaping wound and igniting life within the corpse. And without a second thought, it was off. In spats and fights, eventually the corpse would give way and fall apart-- but the sludge-creature always found a replacement. Each time, it had no face, but a purplish cloud illuminated by a single golden spark, an expressive eye of sorts. |

With time, mutation, and countless recycled bodies, the experiment grew stronger, smarter, and gained a better sense of self. "Prisoner" was a stupid name, but it was what everyone in the prison keep answered to, himself included-- maybe he'd go by "Pris" for short? That was a fun thought, he considered, since his creator had never given him a name. In fact, he'd never seen such a person, despite the notes and clues left behind. Cheery, resourceful and undeterred, he eventually escaped to the mainland.. only to be more than a little disappointed that, yes, illness and disease ran rampant here too. He'd lost at least a couple bodies to the swift-acting malaise, and that hadn't been fun in the slightest: to think, it was a luxury to be somewhere without worrying for your health! If nothing else, it guaranteed his survival, for there was no shortage of lifeless bodies to reanimate and steal genes from. |
━━ notes ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
» The Prisoner has no qualms about stealing weapons or magic scrolls for his own devices. Don't leave your belongings around: he will take them. » He's quickly learned not to get attached to people, with how easily the malaise claimed lives. Often he's good at this, but seems to have failed recently. |
