Character-building bullet points wrote:
  • Rijn is the firstborn daughter of Bloodstone and Vantas, some of the oldest members of the Strays. Due to this, she has half a clan's worth of aunts and uncles who care about her greatly, but who also tend to baby her a lot. Although she is fully grown now, she doesn't mind the treatment, and really just sees it as them caring.
  • Very excited about soldiers and knights, Rijn has always entertained dreams of becoming one herself. The only thing preventing her from chasing her dreams is the lack of a willing teacher fitting for the job, since most of the Strays' fighters are either warriors or spell casters. Her uncle, Ehnekel, has offered to teach her, but she argues that he would be too easy on her and that she needed someone she's less familiar with.
  • Rijn idolizes Mithra, the mysterious soldier that just showed up one day and then stayed, and wishes that she would train her. Mithra has turned her down every time she's asked, saying that she's no teacher, and that she doesn't know how to fight in a team. Rijn thinks Mithra is starting to consider it, though, and still waits for the day when the skydancer will say yes.
  • Bloodstone, her father, has been changing. No one can tell for sure what has happened, but he's become broody and distant. Rijn gets along with her mother well, but they were never as close as her father and she were, so the sudden change in Bloodstone has taken its toll on Rijn.
  • Alongside soldiers and battling, some other special interests of Rijn's include smithery, botany and geology. She collects rocks, and sometimes joins Ila on the fields, especially during the spring and summer seasons.
