They say people who keep roses are five times as likely to be sociopaths as the general population. They would have made that statistic up on the spot, but they still say it. Alkaloid has LOTS of roses. They seem to love him. Rumor has it his actual Charge is a rare and lovely rosebush.

He is not, technically or actually, a poisonmaster. He is a biochemist, thank you very much. He specializes in extracting compounds from exotic plants from strange corners of the world. His garden is stunningly beautiful, but not even Chaiten or Lime will go walking in it, or come within 500 yards of it.

He's polite and soft-spoken and never says anything without carefully considering it first. He's probably a pleasant conversationalist. Maybe that's why Manastorm comes by for tea on the regular. That, or his mate's baking.
