Biography

What she looked like when I got her:
dragon?age=1&body=104&bodygene=12&breed=12&element=6&eyetype=3&gender=1&tert=104&tertgene=10&winggene=19&wings=104&auth=034ad2aa7eae45196c568bdb41672714cc230753&dummyext=prev.png
When I got her she already was gened with Giraffe (I know this because neither one of her parents has it), I’m guessing she was originally Jaguar/Rosette/Glimmer, because her mom is Jaguar/Rosette/Glimmer and her dad is Petals/Butterfly/Glimmer so the odds are that she had her mom’s genes.

Yay, just gened her with Hex!
She’s now qualified as a Honeycomb Basswood Honeytummy!

Hirta had been born into a Honeytummy hive, her parents both perfectly normal Basswood Honeytummies. However, when she hatched, something had been different. It was almost impossible to tell, but while other Honeycomb Basswood Honeytummies had a giraffe pattern on their wings, big hollow hexagon shapes, hers seemed darker and smaller, taking up less space on her wings. However, at Hirta’s age, there was no way to find out. As she grew up though, something became increasingly clear - her wings were most definitely not patterned the way they were supposed to be. The feathers were splattered with black leopard spots, literal black marks on her worthiness to someday be a Hive Queen. As female Honeytummies grew older, they would be expected to leave the Hive, become independent, find a mate, and start a new Hive of their own. The problem was that all the new hive queens had to be non-defective. And that included the right genes. This was where Hirta’s leopard spots would be a great obstacle. Today was the Choosing, where only the most perfect dragons would be selected to be able to make a new colony. The rest would be rejected, and spend the rest of their days living alone or with a foster Hive. Hirta waited uneasily, fidgeting as she stood in line as dragon number 584. She waited 3 days until it was finally her turn to be appraised. She, of course, was cast out the moment she reached the judge’s seat. This didn’t surprise her, but now she was in trouble... a Honeytummy without a Hive was in big danger of larger and fiercer predators. Now an outcast, Hirta flapped her wings forlornly as she wandered around the leafy landscape. A shiny butterfly fluttered delicately in the leaves of a tree, wings glinting golden. Wait... butterflies weren’t usually shiny. Squinting closer, she made out the vague shape of a torn scrap of paper. It piqued her curiosity, a nice change of mind since she had been thrown out. Soaring in, Hirta plucked the tiny piece of parchment from the branches. It glittered and the words on it wavered, as though they didn’t want to be read. She narrowed her eyes against the glare and made out two words: Gene Change. There was also a torn diagram of a pattern of hexagons on the wing of a dragon. Hirta’s spirits lifted. This seemed to be a piece of a scroll that was able to change the genes of a dragon, and maybe her life.
Perhaps leopards could change their spots.
