In all basics, Daniel is everything including godly, he is smart, cunning, agile, and his eyes are Camden's favorite part of him. His favorite part of her is that she accepts all the glorious parts of him, along with the worst. The parts he never shows anyone. The parts that he is too ashamed, except for when he's around Camden. Daniel shows only those closest to him what he is truly like. He fears people would question his judgement if they saw his weak side. Camden enjoys trying to fix Daniel's problems, issues, and heart-aches. |

Daniel looked at his talons, ashamed of himself. He had failed the dragons that oversee him. He had failed their test. He failed his father... They would kick him out. They would torment him until he became broken. They would tell him good riddance and leave him alone for the beastclans to find. He sighed heavily and waited for his father to berate him. He didn't. He looked down upon Daniel, with regret in his eyes. He would have loved for Daniel to be his predecessor. Daniel chanced a look up at his father. When he did look, he wished he hadn't. His father had summoned a guard. A guard that was infamous for his many "disposals." Daniel's eyes widened. "Father, please," He began to cry. He felt his lip trembling. He felt the emotions of fear, sadness, anger, regret, and shame all at once. "Daniel, I wish I could approve. I wish, oh, I wish you were better than this." Daniels father nodded to Daniel, giving the guard the opportunity to take Daniel away. The guard flapped his wings quickly and stepped toward Daniel. Daniel hung his head and the guard, that was much larger than he, swiftly put Daniel onto his back, in between his shoulder blades. The guard flapped his heavy wings and took off. Thee guard left Daniel's father behind them and flew beyond the gates of their land. He flew far away to a barren and empty land. They were still in the frigid cold, so Daniel at least knew the land. Probably. The guard flew a little lower to the ground, and he spun upside down, allowing Daniel to fall. Daniel screamed. He tried to claw at the guard, only grabbing air. He didn't dare look down, for he knew an impact would certainly be deadly. Instead, he unfolded his wings and tried to fly. One wing was broken. Daniel cried again and waited for the hit. He fell on his feet. He felt something break. Something had broken. Daniel quickly surveyed himself and sat on his hindquarters. He shuddered and looked at his left talon. That was what had broken. Daniel let out his tears. He screamed and cried until he felt as if he couldn't breathe. He choked on the air that he could not feel. He winced and tried to stand again. He found it to be extremely painful. He heard a slight rustling and thought it was the wind. He held his eyes shut and heard the sound again. He opened his eyes once again and saw a beautiful dragoness before him. Daniel turned his ears down like a hurt puppy. He felt his heart beating faster. Surely, this was someone his father sent to finish what the guard started. She smiled a small smile. "Hello, I'm Camden," The beautiful dragoness stated. Daniel didn't recognize the name. "I don't want to hurt you, I'm sorry for scaring you." She bowed her head and Daniel tried standing again. His legs shook under his weight and he winced. "I'm Daniel," His voice was weak from screaming. He didn't take any further steps toward her, careful of his hind leg. He watched as she smiled at him, a glimmer in her eyes. He didn't know what was so special about himself. She took another step toward him and glanced at his shaking leg. "It's broken. I was mid-flight and I fell out of focus, and well, the sky," Daniel lied. He didn't want to burden the beauty, Camden. "Let me help you," She smiled a smile that quite literally, took Daniel's breath away. |
