Camden finds this place to be her home. She trusts the dragons. She trusts her mate. She trusts her judgement. The only thing she doesn't trust, is the Arcanist. Ever since she changed her deity, she has had a strange sense that not all is as it seems. The Icewarden welcomed her with open arms. The Arcanist, however, was not too pleased with her departure. Camden still finds herself longing the simplicity of the library in her old home. Her old home, which is now in ruins... In her new home, she found love. She found a frozen heart and slowly brought it back to life. She found Daniel, broken and alone. She found him when he wasn't a glorious ruler. She helped heal his hurt mind and brought him mentally back to life. Under her wings, she protected him. Under her wings, he fell in love with her. And under his love, she found herself falling. Falling from a greater height than anyone could create. She fell in love with whom she had healed. Camden fell into the great abyss of love, the only thing that keeps her head held high, her posture stiff and proud. She would not seem all that she is without her beloved Daniel. |

Camden stared down at the ruins of her home. She shuddered and looked into the deep and dark sky. Shaking her head slightly, she willed away all anger. All hatred. She fought back her choked sob. She had to be strong. She had to clean up this mess. She had to find a new home. She unfolded her large wings and flew. Camden flew until she could no longer breathe. She finally let her tears flood her face when she knew no one would see. So high in the clouds, one can get lost. She knew this. She wanted to get lost. Because, in order to find yourself, you have to get lost first, right? She let her entire body experience her pain, anger, and sadness. She was an arcane child betrayed by her own deity. She was so proud of her home. Her family. She closed her eyes and let the wind flow through her un-kempt mane. She eventually ran out of tears. Her sadness turned into regret. She regretted trusting the deity. She will turn her back on the Arcanist, as he has turned his on her. Camden landed softly and swiftly on her talons, in a cold place. She had, in fact, gotten lost. A dragon's sniffling could be heard somewhere around her. She spun around, in search of the sad soul. She peered over a ledge, seeing a wounded Ice dragon. Camden slowly folded her wings and searched for an easy way down. To her right, there was a slight slope. She decided to take the risk. She was alone, perhaps she could find a friend. She looked once more at the dragon. She saw a glint of his eyes and gasped. They're so pretty. She felt herself taking steps closer to the dragon. He noticed her and his ears turned down against his head. She could practically hear his erratic heartbeat. "Hello, I'm Camden," She started. "I don't want to hurt you, I'm sorry for scaring you," She bowed her head to the beautiful dragon before her. He stood on shaky legs. "I'm Daniel," His rasp voice was weak. Camden knew something about him was special. She just knew. She felt a small smile tug at the edge of her mouth. He was special, indeed. That day, the Icewarden gained a follower. That day, Camden found herself a friend. A new family. |
