Starfang

Starfang was watching over the lair. It was close to midnight, and since Denye had gone renegade, nearly killing two dragons, a watch had been set. Starfang sighed. Although Brandir had healed up nicely, Ravenfeather was still in a coma, barely even alive. Her physical wounds were gone, apart from her now crippled back leg, but Starfang knew what Denye had done to her had been worse that a few cuts. He looked back up at the sky, and wondered where the rouge was now. Starfang wasn’t a dragon to worry, but with an almost killer on the loose…
Well, that’s enough to make any dragon nervous. He heard the skitter of stone behind him. Starfang whipped around. A strange hooded dragon had landed close to him.
“Stay away.” he growled
“Hello Starfang.” The dragon said. The dragon gave a twittering laugh, and Starfang knew who it was.
“Denye, I’m giving you three seconds to leave or I’ll call for backup.” He told her.
“Nonsense, I’m only here for some hatchlings.”
Hatchlings? He thought, as Denye pranced up to a nest with three eggs in it. She was over there for a moment, then walked back to him
“See? They’ll hatch tomorrow. Enjoy!” She flicked her tail at him and left. The eggs had appeared a day or so after Denye had left, and Seafire has taken it upon herself to incubate the eggs. He had wondered who the eggs might belong to, and now that Starfang knew that it was Denye, he would most likely end up selling them. Starfang sighed again. He pitied Opal. The poor Skydancer now lay awake each night, waiting for Ravenfeather to wake up
“Hey, it’s my turn for watch.” Seafire said. She must’ve come when he was distracted. Starfang nodded gratefully, going back to his nest to sleep.
