Note: "She's a very chill person in general. Her movements are cold and calculated and she loves to swim and collect shells."

Deep came from the allied Alien clan in the Tempest Spire. Ever since she first sighted the SS Maris in the Spire's waters, she became curious about the pirates and their business, so she began to watch for them and observe their movements. At first, she couldn't tell if they actually were pirates because... they didn't look like scoundrels of the sea, yet the Guardian operating as their ship clearly wore a banner in the pirate name. Curiouser still, their activity appeared to consist mostly of cleaning debris from the ocean, which she supposed was probably a pirate thing to do. They were known to loot, after all. But Deep's curiosity grew even greater when Maghnus started posting complaints about their perusal of his trade. As a merchant and appraiser of treasures, the gilded Pearlcatcher was a valuable commodity to any enterprising dragon, but she hadn't expected pirates to follow the letter of the law so closely when obtaining riches.

She considered her own relationship with Maghnus to be one of a professional nature, which made her privy to the ups and downs of commerce across Sornieth. Occasionally, she would find something other than shells while swimming and take it to his post to see if he would purchase it and over time she learned to recognize what items he preferred and which would be classified as junk. Although she could sell and trade on her own, she did not consider herself a merchant of any sort and instead preferred to provide him with goods on commission. It was during one such exchange that he warned her to steer clear of the "terrible little Captain with the sticky fingers" while she was out in the water. "I may enjoy a good haggle and con-artists do amuse me so, but her attempts at trickery are so dull in comparison it truly is such a disappointment," he had told her, so naturally it was only a matter of time before she encountered them herself.

Essentially, she meets them face to face during a swim where she and Sabori attempt to grab the same piece of treasure or something. This gives her the perfect opportunity to size them up in person rather than from a distance and she realizes that Sabori is a touch out of step with the rest of the crew.

Some time later, during a discussion with Maghnus, she manages to convince him that perhaps Haven could use an official trading outpost and the two decide to leave with the pirates. Maghnus settles in just fine in his line of business and she gets to have her own seafaring adventure.

Her job on the SS Maris mostly consists of keeping proper stock of the black powder used to fire the cannon. Nothing goes to waste on her watch. She is far more precise at aiming the cannon than Sabori is, that's for sure, but keeping BangBang in line when she's at the trigger is another conquest entirely.
