Midrin
—Here's The Light; Here's The Night—
As Cimmerian's chandler, Midrin holds a surprisingly powerful position in the clan despite his younger age. While barely into adulthood, he is responsible for creating and maintaining all of the candles and lanterns which illuminate their home. Midrin, if he chooses so, can cause every bit of light to extinguish or burst into existence at his command. It is an excellent tactic to use whenever outsiders stumble their way into the clan for, unlike his clanmates, they are rarely adjusted to pure darkness. Additionally, where Midrin decides to place the lights determines if one walks a safe path or never returns. He uses a mix of traditional and magical methods to create the candles. The magic he puts into the wax, the wicks, even the lantern cases, all only respond to him. Midrin takes his work seriously. He doesn't allow himself much downtime nor does he want it either. He likes to stay busy as it helps him keep his mind focused and from wandering to places he doesn't want it to go. The memories in his not-so-distant past, he doesn't want them...

• Midrin has repressed much of the memories of his childhood, and for good reason. Having come from a very nasty upbringing, Cimmerian has become his home and haven in many ways. Unfortunately, these memories want to bubble up frequently.
• He has to renew the magic in the candles every couple of months. Besides lighting or extinguishing at his command, this magic also makes the candles smokeless, unaffected by wind or light rain, and non-flammable in case something falls into the flame. Midrin can also change the color of the flames.
• He hates being surprised or sneaked up on. Thankfully, this doesn't happen very often thanks to his extra eyes. He will put his back to a barrier of some sort wherever he is in order to further reduce the chance of someone coming up behind him.
• Midrin can't stand overly-sweet foods. He prefers savory and even nearly bitter dishes.
• When he's not working, he likes to read whatever he can get his claws on.
