Biography
HYDRANGEA- Architect
---
PERSONALITY:
Hydrangea would call himself a stereotypical Wind flight dragon: carefree and energetic with a love for adventure. He prides himself on his independence and resourcefulness, able to plan his way through many situations. As a result, he hates feeling helpless or ignorant, and would much rather wallow in his own self-pity than ask for help. While he loves going out of his element, he makes it a point to learn new things every time to avoid being helpless or ignorant should the need for his knowledge arise.
---
Relationships:
Lilac- Mate
Nightshade- Daughter
Lavender, Milkweed- Friends
---
Hydrangea grew up in the Reedcleft Ascent to architect parents. When he grew older, he followed in their footsteps, learning all he could about lair construction. Unashamed to admit he was a stereotypical carefree Wind dragon, he appreciated having a steady job so he could spend his free time flying in the endless sky. He found himself in the most wonderous places on his adventures, and he didn't want them to end anytime soon.
Unfortunately, as he flew above the Crystalspine Reaches one day, disaster struck. A flock of fallen streaks collided with him in the sky, and they all ended up in a tussle over their interrupted flight. Hydrangea had no self-defense experience, so he had difficulty escaping the enraged birds. As his energy wore down, two fallen streaks scratched at his wings, making flight difficult. Hydrangea soon found himself hurtling toward the ground. Though his fall wasn't from fatally high, his mind raced with adrenaline and fear until he landed, his wings failing to break his fall as he was knocked unconscious.
To his surprise, Hydrangea woke up alive in an infirmary. He was in the Mystic Garden's territory, and two Spirals hunched over his wings. The splintering pain alarmed him before he saw the many splints and bandages that encased his shattered wings, but the latter certainly didn't help. Luckily, there was another Coatl standing by: Lilac, a lovely purple dragon who would serve as an emergency Coatl translator if need be. After what felt like years attempted rehabilitation and disappointing results, Hydrangea learned devastating news: his wings would never fully heal from the fall, and he would likely not be able to fly anymore.
Lilac generously allowed Hydrangea to stay in her lair until they were able to get him back home. Hydrangea uncharacteristically sulked around after he heard the news, lamenting his inability to fly. Without his wings, he felt he lacked the independence he valued so much. Not to mention not all of Sornieth had the same disability accommodation laws; the amount of places he could go even with help was now limited. He pondered endlessly on how he could do anything that required the sky now. That is, until he met Lavender.
