Viper

Small and slick with algae, The Viper looks neither stable nor strong; a fact she uses to her full advantage. Despite being a simple cutter, she is employed in petty raids, cutting down the defences of a well-fortified ship or encampment and then turning and sailing windward so as to evade capture.

Her crew - all beastclan, most of them mercenaries - coated her hull almost entirely with metal plating to better withstand fire. They soon discovered this so negatively affected her maneuverability that she took more fire than without it. After several horrific failures, and sailing herself home for lack of surviving crewmembers, some aspiring dockworker took inspiration and bade her next captain fortify only the parts most-documented as having been repaired.

Trysori and Arc even fitted her with folding armature for her sails, which glance away the most ideal angles for breaking her mast, with little cost to tack or speed.
