Her mother always called her "Lulu" and it stuck, much to Glorianna's chagrin, but no one ever teased her about it. No, the nemesis of her hatchling days lay elsewhere. Like the sap of the rubber plant, her feathers oozed a sticky coating that resisted the strongest soaps and loofahs. In the spring, the airborne pollens coated her feathers, giving her a golden, powdery sheen. The other younglings loved to prank her by sticking objects and notes to her wings just where she couldn't see.

Her sibling and clutchmate, Innis, was her champion. He would often stop her, remove the offending article, and when she asked he always replied, "Oh, it's nothing. You look perfect." Needless to say, they were inseparable.

Things became unbearable when Innis decided to follow his calling to join the Gladekeeper. She considered journeying to Dragonhome to live amongst the boulders and canyons, but knew she would miss the Spring flowers (despite the pollen). She needed to be around green, growing things. So instead she packed her bags and set out for the Windswept Plateau.
