"Will you be my friend?"
The spirits often whispered to her tales, of when they were still alive, with friends of their own. Melia always listened to them, starry-eyed, as the spirits laughed and smiled, a wistful look in their eyes.

Friends... How she wished to have them too. Someone who wouldn't fear nor look down on her. Someone who'd laugh and cry with her, who'd be angry for her. She wanted that, so, so much. The spirits always told her to be patient, when she'd ask them if she'd ever have friends. You will, they whispered. One day, someone will be your friend, and they will cherish you. So be patient, youngling.

So, she waits, because the spirits are always right, and they've never lied to her before. So, she believes and she waits. Laughing, exploring and playing with the spirits, hoping to one day have a friend. The spirits didn't lie to her, right?
