When one looks at Rubye and Topaz - two of the Clan's gentlest, wisest dragons - it's hard to see how Tigerclaw came from them. Tigerclaw loves to fight. When the clan goes to battle, he's always at the front. He's the first to lead hunting parties and coliseum teams, and even helps coerce the others into joining said teams. This gets him into problems much of the time, and he often picks fights he can't win. He'll fight until he's battered to the point of immobility. He and Monkshood often butt heads over it, as the latter is always the one to patch him up afterwards.

Gigala helps keep him grounded and slows him down, and he's earned a new respect for the finer things in life, such as wildlife (not to be hunted) and flowers. He's a fiercely loyal member of the clan, and won't let anyone so much as look sideways at the alphas. He almost blindly follows Gwyndor, and only when things blow up in his face does he stop to think.

While not great with kids, and often leaves the raising of their younglings to Gigala, he would fight to the death for any of the babies, not just his own.

He loves flying, and dislikes know-it-alls.
